Evil Dead Burn opens in the United States on July 10, 2026, thirty-three days from now, with New Line Cinema handling the release.
France and Italy get it two days earlier, on July 8. The date has held since New Line and franchise producer Rob Tapert set it, positioning Evil Dead Burn as the direct successor to Evil Dead Rise, the 2023 installment that reset the series' commercial fortunes. Sébastien Vaniček directs from a script he co-wrote with Florent Bernard, the same pairing behind Vaniček's 2023 debut Infested.
Souheila Yacoub leads as Alice, a widow who travels to her late husband's family home hoping for comfort and instead watches her in-laws turn into Deadites one by one, the gathering curdling into a siege. Vaniček, a French director whose first feature Infested premiered at Venice as a tightly controlled creature thriller, was brought onto the franchise after Tapert, Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell saw that film and pursued him directly. Raimi and Campbell remain attached as producers through Ghost House Pictures.
Vaniček has said the franchise's original team gave him full creative control rather than a mandate to repeat prior installments, and he has described his intent as building a self-contained story. That matters because Infested demonstrated he can sustain dread in a confined setting with a small cast, the same shape Evil Dead Burn takes with its single-location family reunion. Grafting a story about grief and a marriage's unfinished business onto the series' body-horror mechanics is a specific swing, not a rerun of the cabin-in-the-woods template.
