Fall 2: Deadpoint arrives in cinemas in one week

Fall 2: Deadpoint sends its climbers higher than the original ever did. Harriet Slater plays Jax, who takes on a punishing plank walk across Thailand's Mount Kwan with Arsema Thomas's Luce, only for a rockslide to leave the pair stranded thousands of feet above the ground with the air running thin and no way down. Tom Brittney and Virginia Gardner round out the cast, and Grace Caroline Currey, who led the first Fall, makes a brief return, giving longtime fans a thread back to where the story began.

The most telling decision happened behind the camera. Scott Mann wrote and directed the original Fall in 2022 on a shoestring budget and watched it earn about seven times that budget back, becoming one of the year's genuine sleeper hits. For the sequel he stayed on as writer and producer but handed directing duties to Peter and Michael Spierig, the twin filmmakers behind Jigsaw and Daybreakers.

A third Fall film is already in progress, with Mann producing again. Committing to two sequels at once is a notable bet for a franchise that began as a scrappy thriller starring just two people stuck atop a television tower.

Fall 2: Deadpoint was originally set for early August before Lionsgate pushed it to September, giving the marketing a little more runway. The tagline asks the question plainly: are you down.

Whatever the answer, this is a film built entirely around the fear of falling, running a tense 98 minutes and shot on real cliffs in Thailand rather than a studio set.
