Fall 2: Deadpoint: countdown to the August 7 release

Fall 2: Deadpoint arrives in US theaters on 7 August 2026 via Lionsgate, 68 days from now.

The sequel centers on Jax Hunter, younger sister of Shiloh, the character Virginia Gardner played in the first film. Jax, played by Harriet Slater, agrees to a climb proposed by Shiloh's friend Luce, played by Arsema Thomas. The pair travel to Thailand to attempt a plank walk across Mount Kwan, and a rockslide traps them roughly 3,000 feet up with no way down but each other. Original director Scott Mann stays attached as co-writer, with Jonathan Frank, and producer rather than director this time, handing the chair to Peter and Michael Spierig, the twin filmmakers behind Daybreakers, Predestination and Jigsaw.

The original Fall built real goodwill on craft: Mann shot it for around $3 million, largely practical, using a genuine 60-foot tower built atop a cliff in the Mojave rather than leaning on green screen, and it turned that low budget into roughly $21 million worldwide plus notably positive reviews for its vertigo-inducing filmmaking. Handing the follow-up to the Spierig brothers is a real swap in sensibility: they're better known for genre high-concept, a vampire-plague economy in Daybreakers, a time-loop puzzle in Predestination, than for the single-location survival grind Mann specialized in, which makes their handling of Fall's practical-height formula the thing to actually watch for.

Confirmed: the 7 August theatrical date, the core cast, the Thailand/Mount Kwan setting, and the Spierig-Mann creative arrangement described above. Not yet public: a trailer, the rating, the final runtime, and any streaming or home-video window.
