Warner Bros. first set the project for an IMAX release in 2025, then slipped it to spring 2026, before landing on this August date. The film also changed its name along the way: for most of its production it was known as "Flowervale Street," and only became "The End of Oak Street" when the first trailer arrived in March 2026.
David Robert Mitchell, who made his name with the low-budget horror hit "It Follows," writes and directs, working again with cinematographer Mike Gioulakis. The story follows the Platt family, played by Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor as the parents, with Maisy Stella and Christian Convery as their children, after a cosmic event tears their suburban street loose from its neighborhood and drops it somewhere unrecognizable, alongside prehistoric creatures. J.J. Abrams and Hannah Minghella produce through Bad Robot, with Michael Giacchino scoring.
