The Death of Robin Hood is ready to watch at home

The Death of Robin Hood is now ready for home viewing, after opening in cinemas on June 19.

Michael Sarnoski wrote and directed the film, casting Hugh Jackman as a version of the outlaw weighed down by guilt over a life of violence, based on an old ballad about Robin Hood's death first written centuries ago. Jodie Comer, Bill Skarsgård, Murray Bartlett, and Noah Jupe round out the cast.

The film holds a 7.4 on IMDb, a solid mark for a Robin Hood story built around penance rather than adventure. It's a notable turn for Sarnoski, whose earlier work on Pig was defined by the same interest in grief and reckoning with the past, now applied to a much larger canvas.

It's for anyone who wants their outlaw legend with genuine weight behind it, built around regret rather than heroics.
