Your week in film and television: June 1

This week spans several regional releases rather than one dominant title.

Peddi, a Telugu action drama directed by Buchi Babu Sana starring Ram Charan opposite Janhvi Kapoor, opens in theaters June 4 after being pushed back twice from an original March date, making it a notable release after months of shifting schedules for one of the biggest Telugu star vehicles of the year.

Maa Behen, a Hindi dark comedy thriller directed by Suresh Triveni, releases theatrically and on Netflix simultaneously on June 4, starring Madhuri Dixit as a mother who calls her two estranged daughters, played by Triptii Dimri and Dharna Durgaa, after finding a body in her kitchen. Teach You a Lesson, a South Korean drama following an Educational Rights Protection Bureau investigating school violence, premieres on Netflix June 5 with Kim Moo-yul, Lee Sung-min and Jin Ki-joo leading the cast.

Rounding out the week, Masters of the Universe, Travis Knight's live-action He-Man reboot with Nicholas Galitzine and Jared Leto, continues generating pre-release buzz, while Office Romance, Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein's Netflix rom-com about a strict anti-fraternization policy tested by workplace romance, and In the Grey, Guy Ritchie's Henry Cavill-Jake Gyllenhaal heist thriller, both remain available on their respective platforms from recent releases.

For a week built on regional variety: Peddi and Maa Behen are the pair worth prioritizing for South Asian cinema releasing simultaneously across formats, Teach You a Lesson suits a K-drama binge, and Office Romance or In the Grey are the easier English-language picks for a lower-commitment night in.
